Electric vehicles are a common mode of transportation in our daily lives. They are very convenient to use, but if not properly maintained, their components, especially the battery, can be damaged, leading to a shorter lifespan and reduced range. The way we charge the battery directly impacts its lifespan. So, how should we charge it correctly? Let's briefly discuss this.
Electric vehicles are a common mode of transportation in our daily lives. They are convenient to use, but neglecting their maintenance can damage components, especially the battery, shortening its lifespan and reducing its range. The way we charge the battery directly impacts its lifespan; so how should we charge it correctly? Let's briefly discuss this.
First, the charger must be the original one. Many households have multiple electric vehicles, and some people use whichever charger is available. This is incorrect; never mix and match chargers. Different electric vehicle batteries have different models and charging currents, so mixing chargers can cause premature battery aging and charger damage.
Second, when charging the electric vehicle battery, wait at least half an hour after stopping the vehicle to allow it to cool down completely before charging. Do not charge immediately after stopping.
Additionally, always charge the battery for the full duration. Do not unplug the charger prematurely, nor should you overcharge. Maintain at least 20% battery charge; never completely deplete the battery before recharging. Always keep some charge in the battery to protect its lifespan.
